Bailey is TRULY the best big brother EVER!

It may not look like anything but this picture from January had tears in both Steve's and my eyes.

As most of you know, Carter is crawling and walking around all over the place but when he walks, he has to hold on to furniture, etc. He fell back from his Leap Frog table (on his butt) and wanted to stand up but was getting frustrated because he had nothing to grab onto. WE KID YOU NOT....Bailey walked over and stood next to Carter and let him pull himself up to stand. I mean, Carter had 2 handfuls of Bailey's hair in his hands and the puppy didn't even give it a thought. Ever since then, he lets Carter crawl, snuggle, stand, etc., all over him. He is the BEST DOG EVER!

But I...AM...NOT...TIRED!!!!

A couple of weeks ago, Carter just DID NOT want to go to sleep...I mean, he was just not doing it. We kept rocking him, giving him a bottle, singing, EVERYTHING and he still was not going down. So after TWO HOURS, Steve and I just threw our hands up in the air and said, O.K., he needs to cry it out then. This was MINUTE TWO of us just leaving him be...I watched the whole thing on the baby monitor. He was standing up and crying, sat down and put his head down and then passed out. We couldn't pass up this picture.

HOUSE TIME!

PLEASE DO NOT CALL DCFS ON US! Every time Bailey goes to lay in his house, Carter totally wants to go in there with him and camp out. So we let go ahead in there and the two of them got along great in the tight quarters. O.K., the door on the crate was closed just long enough to take these three pictures, we couldn't resist! Can't you see how THRILLED Bailey looks in these pics, 'great, this kid has taken over the humans...now he's invading my PERSONAL SPACE!'

This kid LOVES working on computers. Here, he was returning some correspondence with Billy Gates on his latest business deals...

Carter's First Haircut!!

In early January (I KNOW! I KNOW! We are SO FAR BEHIND on updates to our blog!), Carter's hair was so long we decided it was time for his first haircut! We were very lucky that Cheryl, who has done the Drnek girls' hair for AGES, was so generous to give it to him down at her salon, Chicago Ave. Salon which is a great salon and if you are looking for one, you DEFINITELY need to see Cheryl. She is out of sight!

Carter did sooooo good! He was a little scared up front but he held his head still and did such a great job, our patient little guy! What is even more scary is that it is only a month later and Carter is going to need ANOTHER HAIRCUT very soon!

Carter thinking, "Ummmmm, I have on a cool blue cape and I'm on Mom's lap but I have NO IDEA what is about to happen to me..."

Like a deer caught in the headlights....Cheryl was great though, she moved SO FAST!


Toward the end, Carter's patience was running a little on the thin side so we used the brush to try and distract him.
