Carter at the Park

So today was a gorgeous day, Ange was at a wedding shower, so was stuck inside, while my sister Amy, Maggie, Bailey, Carter, and I went to the beach/park in Evanston, not even a stones throw from where Ange went to college. I was originally tired, but glad that Amy dragged us out.

A picture I wish I had taken was the crew in the backseat, just picture a 110 lbs golden in the right seat, carter in car seat in the middle, then maggie in the left seat, all sitting up, packed into the backseat of a VW passat. It looked like those old road trip pictures with 3 kids across. And with all the windows rolled up and the air blowing ice cold since it was soo hot inland.

The top 2 dogs are maggie and ashley behind a fence at amy's, and the bottom is obviously bailey. When carter was brand new, they sent this picture of a "kidnapping" with the demands :) So now we have their dogs behind bars.

Carter's First Visit to Lulu's

Tonight was Carter's first visit to one of his parents favorite places, Lulu's in Evanston (where his mother went to college and probably bought enough cold sesame noodles and chicken salads to put the owners kids through at least highschool. He was blessed with another out of house changing (i think he likes to show it off in new places, though he doesnt realize we are in a closed stall :) ) and he was fed in his third restaurant outing. Carter's Grandpa W LOVES the spring rolls so we sent him a picture of Carter with one, and in the other picture Carter gets in on the restaurant eating.
PS nothing beats Munch A Bunch, go hungry and for like 15 bucks graze on anything under 15 bucks on the menu, as much as you want. Its sat/sun during the day, and mon/tue nights.

Beating the Heat

Well as anyone who lives in Chicago knows, it went from 30s and snow to 85 and sunny in about 7 days time. So here are some pictures of how Bailey and Carter dealt with the heat, both in their own ways:





Bailey has taken up lookout on his black chair again, leaving the large brown one to us, though it definitely smells like dog. And Carter did not like the wet rag on his head, though the bottles were not chilled so he didnt mind those. Guess he likes beer warm like his mother did in college :)

Me and Carter

Here are some random pictures of me and Carter taken by Ange, usually when I wasn't looking, but a few are posed for cuteness factor. And by the way, all pictures which include inappropriate levels of skin (namely my belly, not all of us have lost our pregnancy weight, or me in my boxers) have been kept at home. And I am sure most people who know me, realize that boxer pictures are numerous since I, like most men come home and pants come off.

Scrubs

So here is the little monster in his scrubs, if you look close you can see it has all his info on it, including where he was born and the OB who pulled him out, Dr McGee, and the sideline coach Dr Baum the sideline coach (he would come in and give encouragement, then run off to deliver others).

And yes that is the dog bed that Bailey does things to, but rest assured it was washed 2x with bleach in the washer (need an image, think of the golden retriever in the movie Click), and those are real tools, but they have been wiped with alcohol a whole lot.

Needless to say hopefully he will not get the medicine bug, I am sure my level of enthusiasm will rub off and he will go and be a lawyer :)

Carter visited Uncle Ray and Debbie

So Carter went and visited Uncle Ray (aka Saint Nick) and Aunt Debbie. He was on best behavior until the last minutes of the visit, probably since even he can sense that "someone is watching" and reporting back for his Christmas gifts.

Andrew had his appendix out

Andrew, the godfather of Carter and my brother, had some bad epigastric pain that worsened and turned into appendicitis. Thus he bought himself an expensive vacation with the perk of a laprascopic removal of the offending part. Carter visited him to cheer him up. Another camera phone picture.

Random cute pictures: Top one is Carter attacking noses that get too close, typically he sucks for a few seconds then gives up realizing the nose will not feed him :).

Little Houdini

So Carter is swaddled most of the time for his safety and ours :). He figured out early on, even with the velcro tightened down to wiggle one arm out. But this is Houdini level, COMPLETELY out of the swaddle me wrap.

So anyone that knows me, knows i am a HUGE car nut, specifically Formula One, and the now retired god of racing Michael Schumacher. So here is the future carting star in his race car outfit, given to us by Ange's brother Scott.

Bailey bad hair day

So the annual right of passage for Bailey has occurred, he has been shaved down for the summer. He may look forward to all the swimming and playing in the dog park that the short hair brings, but I think even he feels a little dorky when he walks outside the house. The one perk, is that he is noticeably thinner then last year, since last year even shaved he looked a bit heavy :)
